Health Kinesiology (HK) at the Creative Health Centre, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge

What is Health Kinesiology?

Kinesiology comes from the Greek word kinesis, which means motion. It was originally used to describe a field of medicine concerned with the working of joints and muscles. There are still Kinesiologists working in conventional medicine today, but since the 1960s other systems of Kinesiology including Health Kinesiology have evolved from it.

HK uses muscle testing to ascertain information about the body and uses that information to ascertain a plan of action to bring the body’s energy system back into balance.

How does Health Kinesiology Work?

The Health Kinesiologist communicates with your body using verbal questioning combined with gentle muscle testing This involves applying light pressure to a muscle and monitoring how it responds. The testing accesses the body's own inner wisdom to determine where blockages lie along the body's 14 energy meridians. Using this information, your HK practitioner will perform a range of correcting techniques specifically tailored for your concerns and for your overall health and well-being.

Techniques involved are very gentle and could involve such things as thinking a precise thought, being placed in a specific position or having magnets placed on the body. At the same time acupuncture points are held to retune the body’s energy system. No needles are involved.

HK is very gentle, non-invasive and can be used on all age groups.

What is Health Kinesiology used for?

Because HK does not focus on specific symptoms but corrects imbalances throughout the whole body/mind system, the list of health problems, which it can help or alleviate, is literally endless! HK removes excess stresses from the client's life, which then frees the body/mind to tap into its innate ability to heal itself.

Some of the problems that have been helped with HK are listed below:

What does Health Kinesiology Treatment Involve?

On your first session a detailed case history is taken. This helps to monitor your progress and gives useful information that may be used during the session. You then lie down on a therapy couch fully clothed and the practitioner shows you what muscle testing involves.

A series of questions are asked using muscle testing for responses and stresses are identified. A variety of techniques are then employed to re-balance the energy system. Explanations are given throughout.

During the session a variety of corrections could be used including thinking a particular thought, smelling a particular essential oil or being placed in a particular position.

The first treatment lasts between 1 and 1 ½ hours, subsequent treatments are approximately 1hr.
