A Concannon Camino…
When Tony Concannon sadly lost his daughter last year to a brain tumour, he decided that doing something to mark her life, her spirit and her tenacity was a must. His daughter Aife was an avid activist, always creating new programs to support her local community and families in positions similar to her own. Having found an article in a magazine in the hospice Aife spent the last 11 months of her life in, they discussed it and it was at that point he decided it was something he wanted to do.
When the time came to say goodbye to Aife, he stopped and marvelled at how comfortable and loved the carers at the Hospice made Aife feel, this invaluable contribution to her life had to be acknowledged in a way that was fitting of Aife. So he decided to walk the Camino in her memory and to raise funds for the hard work of the team at the hospice. He invited his daughter to join him and the fundraising journey began.
