What does Indian Head Massage treatment involve?
After a detailed medical history has been taken the massage is carried out fully clothed seated in a chair and will include massage of the scalp, hair and face but firstly the upper back, shoulders and neck, where a great deal of tension and stress is usually held in the body. Particular attention is paid to the tension 'hot spots' around the shoulder blades; along the infraspinatus and supraspinatus muscles of the shoulders; the sterno-cleido-mastoid muscles of the neck; the sensitive occipital region at the base of the skull; the masseter muscles of the jaw; the temples; and the suture joints of the cranium.
Indian head massage is a very relaxing yet reviving treatment which helps to promote higher levels of alertness and concentration. Tension in the muscles is released, dispersing toxins, reducing mental and physical stress, and improving blood flow to the brain.
In short, it is a wonderfully relaxing and stress reducing therapy.
